A proud graduate of Hilo High, raised on indigenous land in the neighborhood of Keaukaha, Grandma would marry a Maui boy whose Army service would take her across the globe before she finally settled into her beloved Wahiawa, nine kids in tow.
​
As one of 35 grandkids that followed, I'm even more grateful for the moments I shared with her, whose influence permeates every factor of my life--- from passion for going holoholo all ova da creation to standing proudly in my Native Hawaiian roots, holding fast to the place I come from even as I discover new parts of this amazing planet for myself, offering my unique perspective to the world.

As we enter Year 12 of this amazing journey, 25+ tours to every region of the US stretching across the seas to Australia and New Zealand, we're now Podcasting and Livestreaming, covering multiple college football games as credentialed media just during the pandemic alone.

I can only imagine where the next 12 will take us!

Hawaii Sports Fans was officially founded on February 13, 2012. Since the Inaugural Tour in late Summer that year which saw us go to three MLB ballparks and the UH football opener at USC, HSF has led groups to seven Super Bowls and so much more.

HSF was borne out of passion--at HSF, your experience matters. Someone recently told us, "every time I see a picture from your tours, it looks like you folks are having so much fun!" A permanent fixture on the UH sidelines, Wayne Coito recently hit 99 straight #HawaiiFB game - Home & Away. He has proudly led every tour since 2012.
Wayne is a SportsFreak in every sense of the word, having attended multiple Super Bowls, NBA Finals, World Series and even all four Pro Tennis majors.
A working actor in Los Angeles, Wayne is a former student-athlete at the Kamehameha Schools and Vassar College. Born in Honolulu to a large extended ohana, he grew up attending UH games from the late 80s and counts his Rainbow Warrior-loving grandparents as his main inspiration.
